Project

Uswat Building expansion, Uswat members has been always being very generous with their donation. Uswat has recently completed the 1st phase of the mosque expansion. The floor space expansion has tremendously help increasing the size congregation we can accommodate. We are now appealing to Uswat member and the general public at large to help build the house of Allah, so that we can complete the 2nd and 3rd phase of the development.

The next phase of the project is to complete the toilet and ablution areas for men and woman and children classroom. Lastly, we are looking to expand the roof space to accommodate other social activates.

Community Links

Our mission is to serve our immediate community; Uswat is still a young Islamic organization with no affiliation with other organization. 100% of our incomes are raise through member in which we are very grateful. Uswat are doing their best to serve the community with a limited resources and floor space. Uswat is hoped to increase their presence in the community and would like to form a partnership with London Borough of Newham on the following areas; Education, Health provision, social welfare and community cohesion.

Service

Uswat mosque is not at the moment open for all of the five daily prayers due to lack of full time Iman, although Uswat is currently looking for fulltime Iman. During busy times, such as Friday prayer, Eid prayer and the Tarawih prayers in Ramadan mosque is open to all.

Religious advice and consulting

Muslims turn to the mosque for help and advice in all matters of their day-to-day life. Uswat Mosque has trained Imams to advise and counsel on the many concerns of the community such as bereavement, cultural challenges, generational issues and matrimonial problems.

The mosque sometimes have vacancies and will advise you to check this area from time to time.

Uswat is also planning to organize Hajj pilgrimage in the near future, the mosque will be offering an open training progamme every year.

Uswat play a central role in education in Newham, we are providing auxiliary education for children between the ages of 4 – 16 years.

The plan is also underway to employ a fulltime Imam to facilitate Saturday Islamic school, a supervised evening Madrasah, Arabic and Islamic studies and various recreations activates and trips for young people, including a Scout group
